From Karen, 38:

"I first decided to try out pilates on the advice of a trusted personal trainer because I was planning to try and have a baby and knew that I couldn't continue with my existing exercise programme - I had no idea of the amazing postural benefits that pilates offered! I wish I had complemented all the running and body pump classes with pilates years ago!

Since taking up pilates with in Diane Archer in October 2012 I have felt a radical change in both my core strength and my posture - my shoulders are no longer up around my ears and I have an amazing amount of movement in my once stiff hip joints. I also feel that I have more control over my breathing during all types of exercise.

I am now 5 months pregnant and would recommend pilates to anyone in the same situation - my weekly one-to-one with Diane allows me to feel completely in control of my body and to reset my posture. I firmly believe that based on my experience of pilates with Diane that pilates will remain an integral part of my life from now on."

From Gillian, 53:

"After suffering from intermittent backache for several years and finding that I was getting increasingly stiff in the mornings I decided to try Pilates. I was amazed at how quickly I felt the benefits. Those benefits are continuing and Diane has motivated me to keep up the exercises at home between lessons. My flexibility has really improved and with Diane's support and encouragement my backache is much improved. Diane obviously knows her stuff and also makes the lessons very enjoyable. I really wish I had started Pilates years ago."

From Penny, 64:

"Diane has been my pilates teacher for over 2 years. I go to her classes two times a week. The difference pilates has made to my stability and suppleness is enormous and I intend to go to her classes as long as she holds them. Diane is a born teacher, she is gentle and caring and always good humoured and approachable."

From Matt, 39:

"I have suffered with lower back pain for at least five years and took up Pilates on the advice of a physiotherapist as the condition was getting worse. I am so glad I did as after 8 classes I feel stronger and my back feels better than it has felt in years."

From Emily, 25:

"I began Pilates with Diane after suffering with chronic tension headaches and neck and shoulder pain for many years. Through Pilates I have learnt to become aware of my posture and where I am holding tension.  I am now able to do things which previously in other exercise classes I was never able to do pain-free.  After a class I feel amazing; fully stretched, energised and tension free! Diane makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and always provides individual attention and alternatives throughout each class."

From Vas, 55:

"A large proportion of my work is involved hunched up in front of a computer which causes tightness in the shoulders, back and neck. Initially the reason for the classes was in order to strengthen my back, as I was suffering from back pain.  I joined a Pilates class with Diane in December 2012. I have found Diane to be attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely patient. I
have never felt that I have been put under any pressure to push myself further than I have been comfortable. She allows each student to progress at their own pace. Forget the 'no pain, no gain' myth, however it is true that the more effort and time you give to it the quicker you progress but this is up to you.

After 4 months, I have noticed a reduction in pain and discomfort which was my objective. I have also noticed additional benefits that have come as a pleasant surprise. The changes are subtle but noticeable. My flexibility has improved considerably (not so subtle), and I feel that my
whole body is stronger.

My shoulders have always been a little rounded but they have now started to straighten up. I stand a little taller and straighter. Pilates is challenging (but manageable) and not a quick fix, but it works and is enjoyable. As you progress the exercises are changed slightly. This adds a new level of difficulty which gives one a real sense of achievement once mastered. I look forward to my classes and future health benefits. I do believe that over a period of time the practice of Pilates can significantly improve your body. I recommend Diane's classes to anyone that is seriously looking to improve core strength, stability and overall flexibility."
